The Wage and Hour Division (“WHD”) of the U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) announced on Monday, July 20, 2020 that it has provided additional guidance regarding the requirements and protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).
This guidance adds to a growing list of compliance assistance materials published by WHD, including the following:
Q & A about paid sick and expanded family and medical leave under the FFCRA,
Posters for federal workers advising them of their rights under the FFCRA,
Posters for all other employees, advising them of their rights under the FFCRA,
The guidance also includes Q & A about posting requirements, and
Quick Benefits Tips to determine how much paid leave workers may take under the FFCRA.
