Credit Card Surcharges in New York - Additional 2024 Guidance

This new surcharge law takes effect in New York on February 11, 2024 and the New York Department of State just released some guidance for businesses when they are charging an additional fee to customers paying with a credit card.  Specifically, the guidance contains examples of “legal” and “illegal” practices.
